The Ups & Downs of Going to Saul, 2008Tuesday 24th JuneHaving got up late again we went round the Glass Cone which is now free. There were some good displays including demonstration of glass blowing by a glass artist.
Back on the boat down the last 4 of the flight we took a smart left into the Stourbridge Arm, at the end of which things which needed to emptied (coz the red light had come on) were emptied and things which needed to be filled (like the water tank) were filled.
A locally-cast iron bridge
The water lilies were in flower.............. Back out of the arm we went down the last 4 locks onto the Staffs and Worcs. When getting the last lock ready I saw TWO boats - the first I had seen all day! We wended our way to Stewpony Lock
No TV at all - no mobile signal either. Tiller Pin of the Day - “Cotton Reels”
Total: 27 miles, 3 furlongs, 36 locks
